Safe Work Australia Invites Public Comment - t
o support the Model Work Health and Safety Act, Safe Work Australia, has released draft model Work Health and Safety Codes of Practice and an Issues Paper for public comment. Responses (due 18th. November '11), have closed. The Beauregard contribution was 17 pages of comment and recommendations. South Australia - SafeWork SA released a new Code of Practice for First Aid in the Workplace, effective from 10th December, 2010. Victoria - September '08, WorkSafe Victoria releases a New Workplace First Aid Compliance Code.
Employers may follow either - (a) Option 1 : Prescribed approach,
or (b) Option 2 : Risk assessment approach.
Under Option 1, Low-risk and Higher-risk workplaces are identified, with different approaches to each. First Aid Kit Contents have also been prescribed under Option 1.
